Bodegas Alvear Joins Forces with Envínate

Envínate is at it again. This time, this group of four young enologists is consulting with iconic DO Montilla-Moriles winery Bodegas Alvear in a new project called "3 Miradas" (three viewpoints).

Born from a desire to express the singular terroir of the Sierra de Montilla (Córdoba, Andalusia), Alvear has turned to one of the hottest commodities in wine making today, Envínate, to create a collection of exclusive wines that faithfully reflect the vineyards, landscapes, soils, altitudes and other characteristics of their origins.

Together Bodegas Alvear and Envínate are striving to express the essence and the maximum potential of a majestic vineyard – through its recovery – that has been historically classified as being of "Superior Quality from the Sierra de Montilla."

To do so, Envínate is carrying out research into both the characteristics of the soils and vines, as well as sampling a range of wines that Bodegas Alvear has been selecting from its best plots, in order to decide which ones have the best potential for aging. The idea is to create wines that will faithfully reflect the characteristics of their origins.

The "3 Miradas", or three perspectives referred to by the name of the project, allude to the following: the first is of a wine that reflects a town, an area and its mountains, the result of a blend of wines from different plots – each of which contributes something to the whole; the second is the limited collection box of six bottles of wine; and finally, the third viewpoint will have to wait for the wine to age for an unspecified amount of time.
